FUN FACT

Drive to Stewart

The 65 km drive from Meziadin Junction to Stewart is breathtaking. “It looks like a scene from Jurassic Park,” “I stopped counting the waterfalls after 40,” and “I’ve been all over Canada and nothing compares to this drive – absolutely beautiful,” are some examples of what tourists passing through have said.

Next to the Visitor Centre is our local estuary and boardwalk. Starting from 5th Avenue and stretching 805 metres across the tide flats to Highway 37A that connects us to Hyder AK, enjoy a beautiful walk full of breathtaking views, interesting bird species and plants. With the many conveniently located picnic tables and garbage disposals, it is also the perfect spot to rest after hiking or have a picnic and just take in the scenery.
